  1. AIDS is the abreviated name given to Acquired
  2. Immune Deficiency Syndrome, and is caused by
  3. the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and is
  4. spread through homosexual and heterosexual
  5. intercourse, through the bloodstream, and
  6. from a mother to her unborn child through the
  7. placenta. This uncurable desease is thought
  8. to have originated in Central Africa, It has
  9. spread now to every County in the World.
  10. Although there is no known cure (1996),
  11. scientists worldwide are working on a
  12. vaccine.
